1. Who is eligible to live at
Madonna Manor?
Madonna Manor is a retirement home for women. Residents may live as an Independent or as an Assisted Living resident. Residents may be ambulatory or non-ambulatory. Our facility is not wheelchair friendly. We are licensed by the State of California as a Residential Care facility for 68 residents.
2. What is the cost per month and is there an entrance fee?
The monthly
rent ranges from $1575 to $3068 depending
on whether or not the resident is a member of the California
Catholic Daughters of America, and also based on whether or not
she uses a one or two bedroom unit.
This fee includes a fully furnished
private room with a full bathroom and patio; three daily meals;
transportation to banks, shops and doctor's appointments;
monthly educational programs; daily spiritual services and much
more. A one-time non-refundable Application and Admission Fee of
$750.00 is due upon submission of your application for admission
form. An up-to-date Physician's Report is also required before
admission.
3. Are you allowed to have your own car?
You certainly may bring your own car, provided you still have a valid CA driver's license. On-premise parking is available. If you choose not to drive your vehicle, convenient public transportation is available nearby or by advance reservation with RIDES. You may also make use of our facility transportation services on the days it is available.
4. Are there doctors, hospitals and convalescent facilities available?
Yes, Salinas has the usual medical, optical and dental professional services. Several excellent convalescent facilities are recommended should a resident need to convalesce after hospitalization. Madonna Manor is not a health care facility nor is it licensed to provide skilled nursing care. Use of Visiting Nurse/ Home Health Nurse is acceptable upon resident’s physician’s order.
