QUESTIONS MOST
FREQUENTLY ASKED (Continued)
5. Are there doctors, hospitals and convalescent facilities
available?
Yes, Salinas has the usual medical, optical and dental professional services. Several excellent convalescent facilities are recommended should a resident need to convalesce after hospitalization. Madonna Manor is not a health care facility nor is it licensed to provide skilled nursing care. Use of Visiting Nurse/ Home Health Nurse is acceptable upon resident’s physician’s order.
6. May a resident bring her own furniture if she so wishes?
Yes, you are encouraged to bring some of your favorite furniture, such as a comfortable chair, end tables, lamps, pictures, bed linens, television set and stand, etc.
7. Is there a curfew at night?
No. Upon admission each resident is given a front entrance key as well as her room key. She is free to go and come as she wishes. For security and safety reasons "sign outs and sign ins" are required of all leaving and upon returning to the premises.
8. May relatives or guests stay
at the Manor?
Yes, we have a nicely furnished guest wing with rooms for a single person and for couples. Overnight reservations are required in advance. A fee of $60.00 per day for a single room and $85.00 per day for a double room is charged and it includes three meals. This charge does not change if the visitor chooses not to eat at the Manor. Rooms are not permitted for individuals for tourist purposes.
9. Are there visiting times to
see the facility?
We do appreciate notice when prospective residents and/or their families want to visit for a tour. You are always welcome to "come and see" and meet other residents. Just phone for an appointment at (831) 758-0931.
10. How does the admission
process work?
If you are satisfied with your tour and we have answered all your questions a meeting will take place with an Administrator. An Admission package will be provided, which will include a Physician’s Evaluation form. This form must be completed before admission can be finalized.
